Review: Marion Temporary Hair Color Shampoo

16:26

So I was going through a phase where I wanted to change my hair color but I didn't want to compromise to it, afraid the color didn't look good on me. I came across this hair color brand, Marion, that has temporary hair colors and costs only 1 (one) euro! This certainly caught my attention. The color range is huge (24 colors), from blondes, browns, reds, blacks, pinks, etc. I chose the color Mahogany, which is a red color with a brown undertone. The packaging is really simple and its use is very intuitive. The product comes inside a little sachet and brings 2 gloves for application. I bought it on primor.eu.

The brand claims:
Marion Hair Color Shampoo is an exceptional and safe product for hair coloring based on direct dyes. Contains no ammonia or peroxide. The aloe extract gives your hair a beautiful, vivid color and natural shine. The aloe extract makes easier to comb out and the natural UV blocker protects hair from harmful effects of sunlight. The color holds on hair for 4 to 8 washes, depending on the dyeing time given in the instruction for use.

How I applied:
After applying my regular shampoo and wash it off, I applied the hair color shampoo to my wet hair, leaving it on for 30 minutes. The instructions say that if the product is left on the hair for 20 minutes, it will hold for 4 washes and if it's left for 40 minutes, it will hold for up to 8 washes. I expect it to last for around 6 washes.

The results right after the application and after the first wash:

~ My thoughts ~

Positive points:
The application is very intuitive, the gloves helped to keep my hands clean. The dye that ended up in the bath was easy to clean, as long as it was cleaned right away. My hair got beautiful red hues, perfect for someone who doesn't want to fully commit to red. After the first wash, the color was still there. Let's see how it will turn out with a few more washes.

Negative points:
My hair did turn red, just not as red as I was expecting and the suggested picture led me to believe.
I noticed, after leaving the shower and with my hair still wet, that it was soo rough and dry. I felt the need to spray it with my 11 benefits Salon Hits to moisturize it and it looked better. After the first wash, however, my hair wasn't as dry but I felt that the color faded quite a bit. I'm afraid that it will be gone by the next wash, which will be the second one. If you want the color to last longer, I recommend to apply some dry shampoo between the washes so that the color doesn't vanish as fast.
